1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MeetSafe (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. You must provide a valid phone number and, for identity verification, a valid government-issued identification document.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account using your phone number. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Identity Verification

MeetSafe provides identity verification services. By submitting your identification documents and selfie photographs, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Submit only your own genuine identification documents
• Consent to biometric data processing for verification purposes
• Understand that verification results may be shared via trust badges at your discretion

Submitting fraudulent, altered, or another person's identification documents is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account termination and legal action.

5. Trust Badges and Sharing

MeetSafe allows you to share trust badges that indicate your verified status. Trust badges do not guarantee the character, intentions, or behavior of any user. You acknowledge that verification confirms identity only, not trustworthiness or safety. You share and rely on trust badges at your own discretion and risk.

6. Safety Events

MeetSafe provides safety event features including check-ins, location sharing, and emergency alerts. You acknowledge that:

• Safety features are tools to assist, not guarantees of safety
• MeetSafe is not a substitute for emergency services (call 911 in emergencies)
• Location sharing is voluntary and can be paused or stopped at any time
• You are responsible for designating appropriate safety contacts
• SMS notifications to safety contacts may be subject to carrier delivery limitations

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Submit false or fraudulent identity documents
• Impersonate another person
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Attempt to circumvent security measures or access other users' data
• Use the Service to stalk, track, or monitor anyone without consent
• Trigger false emergency alerts
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure

8. Content and Messaging

You are solely responsible for content you post or messages you send through the Service. We reserve the right to moderate content and may remove content that violates these Terms. You grant us a limited license to process and transmit your content as necessary to operate the Service.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by MeetSafe and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service without our prior written consent.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. MEETSAFE DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY OF IDENTITY VERIFICATION RESULTS OR THE SAFETY OF ANY REAL-WORLD MEETING.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MEETSAFE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES ARISING FROM REAL-WORLD MEETINGS, RELIANCE ON VERIFICATION RESULTS, OR FAILURES OF SAFETY FEATURES.

12. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users or the Service. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings, which will trigger deletion of your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.
